Bamboo Bar

Riverside, Bangkok

About

Jazz & Blues bar at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. From its modest start in 1953, The Bamboo Bar has evolved into a celebrated Bangkok institution, drawing jazz enthusiasts from around the world. This iconic spot, Bangkok's first jazz venue, retains its sensual 1950s ambience. The Mandarin Oriental's acclaimed mixologist team masterfully crafts drinks and cocktails, notably the recently-introduced The Evolution menu. Inspired by the natural progression of bamboo and featuring local ingredients, The Evolution menu embodies The Bamboo Bar's ethos: a legendary jazz establishment perpetually adapting and evolving with the times. Also available is an extensive list of classic cocktails to fuel the evening. A live band featuring a jazz vocalist takes the stage from Monday to Thursday, 8pm to 11:45pm, and on Fridays to Saturdays from 8pm to 12:45am. On Sundays, a pianist performs from 9pm to 11:45pm.

Stella

Stella is the glamorous signature cocktail bar at Capella Bangkok, set on the ground floor of the luxury riverside hotel along the Chao Phraya River. The lavish, feminine-inspired space blends art-deco design with a marble bar, white marble walls of hand-painted oriental frescoes, patterned sofas, vintage wicker chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river, all crowned by a Milky Way-shaped chandelier and a taxidermy white peacock, evoking elegant cocktail gatherings of the 1800s. The bar doubles as a patisserie, offering a dessert omakase created by executive pastry chef Sylvain Constans, with optional cocktail pairings. Its cocktail program is led by Bars Manager Miriam Nini and has drawn on themes of female heroism across Thai, Indian, Japanese and Chinese histories, with the latest menu built around the lotus flower and spanning 19 cocktails in three chapters. Signature drinks have included The City of Khai, Blossom Touch, Dynasty Sour and Sun of Goa, backed by a deep collection of more than 70 gins and 60 rums. Stella is featured on 50 Best Discovery, underscoring its standing among Bangkok's finest bars. It attracts an upscale, well-heeled crowd of hotel guests, luxury travelers and cocktail connoisseurs. Reservations and smart attire are recommended for the refined, romantic setting.
