Fatty's Bar and Diner
Fatty's Bar & Diner is a Wisconsin-style American dive bar and diner in the Din Daeng area of Bangkok, just north of Sukhumvit near the Sirat Expressway and roughly a 20-minute walk (about 1km) from Phra Ram 9 MRT station. It was opened in 2012 by a Wisconsin native together with his Thai wife and business partner, and has built a loyal following over more than a decade. The walls are plastered with stickers and Americana memorabilia, giving it a genuine, lived-in dive-bar character that has earned it repeated best dive bar nods in local media. The kitchen turns out Midwestern comfort food and American classics such as burgers, ribs, wings, a signature Philly cheese steak and a corned-beef Reuben, and it is known for its house-made cheese curds. Drinks focus on beer, with imported craft selections and locally brewed Thai options available in cans and bottles. Live music is a regular fixture, including a popular open-mic night on Tuesdays. The atmosphere is casual, friendly and unpretentious, blending American dive-bar warmth with Thai hospitality. It draws expats craving a taste of home alongside locals and craft-beer fans.
