Tempo calls itself The Social Bar and sits in a shophouse on Ari Soi 4 North, its facade papered edge to edge with its own posters and flyers. Inside is one small room of mismatched tables under an art-covered wall, a bar at the back and a corner that turns into a stage most nights. The programme is the point: the venue publishes a monthly line-up on Instagram running a band from around eight, a second act from ten and a resident DJ from midnight until late, tagged pop, Thai disco and jazz hip-hop, alongside Oldies Nights, free multi-band concerts that run from five in the afternoon to one in the morning, and one-off tie-ins with the Soi Ari festival and the Think Fest swap weekends. The food is deep-fried and unapologetic about it, with beers and cocktails alongside; typical spend is 400 to 600 baht a head. The bar is pet-friendly and marked LGBTQ+ friendly on its own listing, and takes reservations online. Google publishes no weekly opening table for it, only that it closes at two.
