Asia Today is an intimate cocktail bar tucked into the Soi Nana laneway of Bangkok's Chinatown, opened by the team behind the multi-award-winning Teens of Thailand. Set in a compact shophouse space that famously uses a fire-exit door as its entrance, the bar has a bold, playful attitude, complete with quirky decor, neon signs and a suspended shark. The drinks program celebrates high-quality local Thai produce that is often overlooked, building cocktails around indigenous herbs, wild chrysanthemum from Chiang Rai, and up to thirteen regional varieties of Thai honey, much of it foraged and tested personally by the bartenders. Its signature style leans on honey- and rum-forward drinks, such as the Eastern Honey served in a beeswax mug with gin, sesame, lime and wild-honey foam. The small counter encourages close, conversational interaction with the bartenders, so guests are encouraged to ask for a recommendation based on their preferred level of sweetness. On weekends the venue also opens during the day for coffee and coffee-based mocktails. Asia Today has earned international recognition, appearing on Asia's 50 Best Bars list. It draws a mix of curious cocktail enthusiasts, in-the-know locals and travelers exploring Chinatown's booming bar scene.
