Blueprint Livehouse

Blueprint Livehouse is a dedicated live music venue on the second floor of Flow House in Bangkok's Khlong Toei district, built to support artists who create and perform original music. Positioned above the Flow House surf attraction in the A Square complex, it has quickly become a go-to destination for the city's live music enthusiasts. The intimate, performance-first space stages a mix of local and international acts, hosting standing-room gigs that put the band front and center. Its programming spans rock, indie, alternative, electronic and pop, with an emphasis on original songwriting rather than covers. The venue frames itself as a vibrant hub where musicians and audiences connect through the shared experience of live performance. Because it runs as a true livehouse rather than a nightly bar, doors typically open only when a gig is scheduled, and entry fees generally start from around 350 THB. Tickets are commonly sold in advance through Ticketmelon. The crowd skews toward passionate music fans and supporters of the local original-music scene. It is reachable via the MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre station, a short taxi ride away.

Independence Bar - Cocktail Bars in Chinatown, Bangkok

Independence Bar

Independence is a wine-focused cocktail bar tucked into the low-key side of Bangkok's Chinatown, on Maitri Chit Road a few minutes' walk from MRT Hua Lamphong. Opened in May 2024 in a converted former motorcycle repair shop, it trades polish for a raw, seductive vibe of graffiti-covered walls, fluorescent lighting and a design often likened to a New York subway platform. The concept is to strip the snobbery out of wine, letting guests explore traditional and natural wines, sake, port and vermouth without any pretension. These fortified and aromatized wines also become key ingredients in the cocktails, such as the Fake Ass Negroni, which twists the classic with Niepoort Ruby port, dry sherry, Sacred Rosehip and Contratto Bitter. It has been called arguably the least snobbish wine bar in Bangkok, and some coverage highlights inventive Isaan-Thai-inspired drinks alongside the wine list. The soundtrack leans indie, alternative and hip-hop rather than typical lounge jazz, reinforcing the unpretentious, easy-going mood. It is part of a hospitality group that also runs the bars Tax, Asia Today and G.O.D. Expect a young, in-the-know crowd looking for fun over formality; cocktails generally run 400-500 baht.

The Rock Pub

The Rock Pub is Bangkok's legendary house of rock, a dive-bar-style live music venue and concert space that has been a cornerstone of the city's rock and metal scene since it opened on 1 March 1987. Now run by the second generation of its founding family and located on Phahonyothin Road in the Phaya Thai area near Sanam Pao BTS, it survived the 1997 financial crisis on the loyalty of its community and still throws big anniversary celebrations every March. The decor pays homage to legendary rock and metal bands, setting the mood for live music virtually every night, with house and cover bands typically taking the stage from around 10 pm. Programming spans classic rock, heavy metal, punk, alternative and nu-metal, and over the decades the stage and associated shows have hosted major international acts including Napalm Death, Exodus, DragonForce, Doro and many touring metal and metalcore bands. Beyond nightly bands it runs ticketed gigs, tribute nights and themed events for Bangkok's rock faithful. Drinks are pub-style and unpretentious, with beers, spirits and cocktails, plus food available. The crowd is a devoted mix of rockers, metalheads, headbangers, expats and long-time regulars. It remains one of the longest-running and most iconic live-rock venues in Thailand.
